Sales Consultant

DEPCO is currently seeking applications for a full time Education Sales Consultant position. Applicants will be focused on serving their customers, selling products, and meeting customer needs within the established company guidelines. Applicant must reside in Kansas or be willing to relocate to Kansas. Periodic travel to corporate office in Pittsburg, KS is required.

  • Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedules and travel plans to call on existing or potential educational customers.
  • Adjusts content of sales presentations by listening to the customer’s needs and or pain points before offering them a solution.
  • Provide technical assistance to the customer during the product installation process.
  • Provide customer quotes by referring to company price lists and product literature.
  • Keeps management informed by submitting sales activity and reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory forecasts as requested.
  • Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, etc.
  • Create customer solutions to provide a smooth sales process.
  • Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems and involves the DEPCO Technical Support staff in developing a solution for the customer.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and conferences, reviews professional publications for possible upcoming trends, establishes personal networks, and participates in company and manufacturer training classes when scheduled.
  • Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Conduct telesales and deliver professional sales presentations both face-to-face and virtually.
  • Develop, maintain, and execute a sales territory plan.
  • Ability to travel and work trade show events, workshops, etc.

Sales Representative Skills and Qualifications:
Self-Motivated and Confident; Customer Service Focused; Driven to Meet and Exceed Sales Goals; Capable of Developing, Maintaining, and Growing Sales Pipelines; Experienced in or willing to learn to Manage a Sales Territory, Including Relationship Building and Brand Promotion; Ability to Prospect and Lead Nurture from Generation to Closure; Skilled at Analyzing, Organizing, and Conveying Information Clearly and Concisely; Ability to Plan, Organize, and Prioritize; Consists of an Aptitude to Obtain, Retain, and Convey Product Knowledge; Perform Formal Presentations; Uphold an Interest in Technology and Education; Demonstrate Good Mechanical and Technical Aptitude; Ability to Work in a Windows Based PC Environment; Min. Bachelor’s Degree recommended.
