In August, Terry Graham, President of DEPCO, LLC, proudly announced that Richard Grimsley, previously the Vice
President of Programs with Project Lead The Way, Inc., had accepted a position at DEPCO, LLC as the new Vice President
of Development. “We are excited to add Richard to the team at DEPCO. His experience and the contacts he brings with
him to DEPCO will help us expand our development into other educational areas and provide us with the opportunity to
expand into new markets locally and internationally,” Terry explained.
As Vice President of Programs at PLTW, Richard oversaw the engineering and biomedical sciences aspects of the
organization from curriculum and professional development to university partnerships. After joining PLTW in 2001,
Richard served as Regional Director, Director of University Initiatives, and Associate Vice President.
Prior to working at PLTW, Richard spent 14 years in public education teaching technology education at the middle school
and high school levels in Texas. Grimsley served as the Director of Technology Education at the Texas Education Agency,
the Texas State Department of Education. He received a Bachelor’s of Science in Construction Management in 1985
from West Texas A&M University and a Master’s in Education in Administration and Supervision in 1991 from the
University of North Texas. He has completed course work towards a Ph.D. in technology management at Texas A&M
University. Grimsley has a minor in school guidance counseling and is certified to teach technology education and
business education. Grimsley has served on the Board of Directors for the Technology Student Association and the
International Technology Education Association‐Council of Supervisors. Also, Grimsley has received numerous state and
national awards in technology education and has numerous articles published in the fields of technology education and
engineering education. Prior to his career in public education, Grimsley worked in manufacturing and construction.
DEPCO, LLC (Dependable Education Products Company), based in Pittsburg, Kansas, develops and markets educational
curriculum for early childhood, K‐12, and the post‐secondary markets. Product topics include science; business,
marketing, and IT; careers and technology; early childhood; family and consumer sciences; and industrial automation
