Students will explore manufacturing in this technology learning curriculum that demonstrates the CNC process and the proper way to machine a raw material into a finished CO2 car. Students begin by learning the basics of CNC and Mastercam software. Students learn to use solids to design their CO2 car, just as an engineer would in industry. Next, the wooden CO2 cars are designed by using the helpful tips from DEPCO’s comprehensive curriculum workbook. Finally, students manufacture the cars using a CNC wood router, a great new addition to any technology, manufacturing, or pre-engineering lab.
